I was lucky to be able to visit the Istanbul Airport (ICAO code is LTFM, IATA code is ISL) prior to its official opening on 29.10.2018. My tour of the new airport included all details such as the taxiways, treshold of runway 35L, the tower, airport datacenter, terminals, luggage loading areas. We all hope the best for this airport, which will the world's biggest airport when in full operation within couple of years.

This video was taken during the testing and commisioning of a DRUPS (Dynamic Rotary UPS) installed in one of our data center projects in Turkey. When the utility input gear Q1 is opened the full datacenter IT load is fed by the rotary energy storage unit. At the same time of power outage the diesel unit starts up and takes the full load within seconds. With the diesel engine on, the IT load is fed and the kinetic energy storage is charged back up %100.
I went to Nigeria in February 2018 to finish up our Fire fighting project for Hayat Group in Nigeria Agbara Plant. It was a very successful project involving water based sprinkler systems, CO2 and FM-200 based extinguishing systems. I gave on site training to Hayat Nigerian H&S Staff and Fire staff on various components of the system such as Fire Pumps (according to NFPA20), detection and extinguishing activation panels, wet alarm valve station groups etc. Below is a shot of the lovely Nigerian brothers and sisters during the traning.
Looking through the sight glass towards the furnace (grate) of an incinerator. Municipal Solid Waste is burning directly on the grate. This video is from the AEB Amsterdam Incineration plant with the a total electrical power output capacity of 1250 MWe/hour , by incinerating approximately 4400 tons of MSW per day. This will be the future of Municipal Solid Waste for a sustainable environment.
According to Türkiye Elektrik İletişim A.Ş. (TEİAŞ - Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation) , the installed power capacity of Turkey reached 87.317 MWe per end of August 2018. Thermal Power Generation sum is 42.593 MWe, hydroelectrical power gerneration sum is 28.116 MWe.
As a mechanical engineer managing various projects throughout the continent, business traveling means not only site business but also to get a deeper insight of the country’s culture, habits and traditions. I was in Pakistan Lahore this week for a newly acquired project and had the great opportunity to go and live! the Wagah border flag ceremony. It was amazing. Full respect to both the Pakistani and Indian soldiers to perform this vibrant act each and every day.
The flag ceremony at the Wagah Border (between Lahore Pakistan and Amritsar India) is a daily joint practice/drill executed by the Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force (BSF). The event takes place right after the afternoon prayer time before the sun sets. It is colorful, it is heroic, and it is definitely patriotic. If you ever visit Pakistan or India this must be on the to do/see list. I would definitely love to see and experience the same event from the Indian site as well in the near future.

Euphrates Rives, Karasu tributray, Erzincan Kemah Province ERİÇ-3 Hyrdopower plant Project drone flight
Here is a short drone flight (flown by myself:) over the Euphraster river in Erzincan, Kemah provience over Palmet's ERİÇ-3 hydropower plant Project. When completed ERİÇ-3 plant will produce 45 MWe / hour. Total Project power output is 300 MWe. (Eriç1, Eriç2, Eriç3 and Eriç4)
